What this service is really about.
Many of Asheville's grandest trees have codominant stems, two trunks of equal size joined by a narrow union with included bark. Under ice or wind, those unions are where trees fail.
We install supplemental support systems to ANSI A300 Part 3 standards: dynamic synthetic cables that allow natural movement, or steel cables and threaded rods for unions that are already cracked. Every system is logged and inspected every one to two years.

Dynamic systems wrap around the stems and do not penetrate wood. Steel systems use small drilled anchors that trees compartmentalize well when installed correctly.
Synthetic dynamic cables are typically replaced after 8 to 10 years. Steel systems last longer but must be inspected so the tree does not grow around the hardware.
